Some years ago I was sitting in a medical building
waiting for my much dreaded annual doctor's visit. Why is it that with
most doctors' appointments you hurry to get there on time only to wait for what
seems to be an endless period of time before you hear that "joyous
phrase": "We're ready for you now. Could you come with me
please?"
Well, anyway, before the "joyous phrase" part I noticed a man
casually cleaning the office windows; and since I had nothing else to do I
checked and then checked again--looking from every direction for streaks on his
"just cleaned glass". To my surprise I found none--not one. So, I
walked over and asked him if he could possibly reveal his secret to me.
Even using products that are advertized as "streak free" I had never seen
such sparkling windows
. So.....here's the secret formula which I
have been using for years( with compliments from a host of friends and
relatives!) Mix Dawn dishwashing detergent with just enough hot water to
make some suds. I usually mix it in a bucket. Wash your windows or
mirrors with the solution using a rag or paper towels. The great thing
about this mixture is that it really cleans the grease and grime. Then,
using a squeegee--never a rag or paper towels--start from top to bottom to
remove mixture from windows, wiping the squeegee off with every swipe.
And, Voila! Sparkling windows!!
