Spiral staircase in virginia
This spiral staircase was designed to fit a 50" opening from the basement to the attic, with landings on the first second and attic floors. The homeowner is going to supply the guard rails around the openings in the floor. the main floor staircase is decorated with spun basket pickets and the entire staircase meets the 4" gap code. The hand rail is 1" solid round steel, the treads and landings are 1/4" plate steel and we have used a truck bed liner finish on the entire staircase. This staircase was built in 3 pieces and cut into 6 then hoisted into place and welded back together on site. It is installed in a 1906 Farm house in Buchanan, Virginia. www.appalachianironworks.com for more pictures.
