Believe it or not there is now an organization for Green Builders.

 

 

The Built Green logo is your assurance that your builder has certified that your new home contains selected Built Green features and meets the criteria on the Built Green checklist. Be sure to check the list of participating builders to locate a Built Green builder in your area.

 

Building projects are qualified using a Built Green checklist organized into six categories of environmentally friendly action items. There are four separate checklists for four different types of projects: homebuilder, remodeler, multifamily, and community. Features included in the Built Green checklists include:

 

• Green Building Codes
• Site & Water Protection
• Energy Efficiency
• Health and Air Quality
• Materials Efficiency
• Environmentally Responsible Home Ownership

 

This organization is growing as are every aspect of Living Green. Imagine if in the future all builders applied these checklist to their building projects. It would make for a cleaner, more efficient and safer environment for everyone.
