Rick,
Thanks for your reply.
In my research I came across a flexible waterproof modified cement coating product by Grailcoat (www.grailcoat.com).
In regards to it fitting my project's concerns(noted in my 1st post)...
1. What comments might you have about the product material?
2. What additional suggestions would you add in the area of the product's application instructions.
My sincere appreciation,
Gigi
Gigi, SIPs and Grailcoat seem to work very well together. This is a very durable product and what makes it unique is that it has the properties to work against absorbing moisture and yet can expell water vapor. In a report released in 2001, a survey was taken on the use of this product in relationhip to other stucco type products and almost across the board, the Grailcoat was the best stucco type product to work with SIPs.
So, this would probably be a pretty good choice for you in your area. Also, because the product has worked so well with SIPs, numerous companies have sprung up throughout the country that will install the product. So it appears the two have a very good relationship with each other.
So, I would advise that you look for and hire a company that is experienced in the appliciation of this product on Structural Insulated Panel Construction. I noticed on their website that they offer training workshops and even offer on site crew training in some areas. You would need to contact Grailcoat direct to find out more about this.
You can click on the following link for more information. Grailcoat Training.
From what I have read on other sites that have written about this product, the customer service with this company is excellent, so contacting them direct will probably give you the best results and the most information plus you can ask for references to talk to others who have used this product on their homes. You can call them direct at: 877-472-4528.
I hope this helps. Rick
