Rick, this is part of previously asked question regarding ceramic tile on concrete slab.
There is apparently NO splotches of paint on the concrete, just over-spray, and a little glue from where they glued the pad down. I pretty much leveled all the glue residue, there's still a trace. Do I need to sand all that down to BARE CONCRETE?
Another issue comes to mind as well. When I remove the toilet to set the tiles, there will be a slightly higher elevation when I set it back in due to the thickness of the tile. Is there some sort of flange adapter to compensate for this so that I will have a good seal once everything is replaced? And if so, is it a "Herculaen Task" I am at kind of a disadvantage here as my place is small with only one bath period. I needn't elaborate the obvious.
Anyway, that's what i am up against.
Rick Thanks for getting the thing straightened out with my pass word. Seems to work fine now. Have a great day.

RB, the main thing to be concerned with is that you have got the floor surface as clean and flat as possible. Usually glue that has been stuck to the floor for some time, after it is sanded or flattened off, will be alright. Just make sure there are no globs of glue, which is sounds like to me, you are OK as far as that goes. You can still apply an acrylic concrete floor sealer over it and then follow the same procedure that I gave you in the last question.
As far as the toilet goes, you can get yourself a Toilet Flange Extension kit.
Check with a local plumbing supplier, home improvement center or online plumber supplier. Click on the following link to our Pluming Fixtures and Supplies category and you can search there as well. I have also seen this kit at Amazon.com for about $10.00.
I hope this helps. Rick
