Answer Is Haas Door a good garage door? How about Wayne Dalton?
Answer

Drew, Thanks for you question. It can be very difficult in deciding which garage door brand to use, because there are several good ones out there.

Referring to your question in comparing the two manufactures, both Haas Door and Wayne Dalton have been making quality garage doors for years. Both garage door companies are members of the DMSMA (Door and Access Systems Manufactures Association) which stand for quality both in the products and their performance.

With Haas I especially like their Classic Wood Collection line because they have mastered using insulated steel to construct beautiful "Wood Look" doors, that have the durability of an insulated steel door and the beauty of an authentic wood look. These doors come in both cherry and oak and are virtually maintenance free.

Wayne Dalton offers a line of Wood doors, hand built by Amish Craftsmen, and they are really quality works of art. They can even provide  the look of a swinging door, in a standard garage door operating system.

If you are planning on purchasing a insulated steel panel door for you home, then you can't go wrong with either of these companies. Haas seems to have a few more door offerings and they even offer aluminum commercial doors, but the quality and workmanship of each of these is top notch.

Again, I have always been impressed the the Wayne Dalton Amish built all wood garage doors, but you should really use these doors in areas of the country where the weather is not an issue. Wayne Dalton specializes in insulated steel doors and have numerous styled to choose from. The quality is among the best you can get.

As far as cost, you will probably pay a little less for the Wayne Dalton, but be sure to shop around and remember we are living in a Buyers Market today. All service companies need work and are becoming more competitive, so don't be afraid to ask for the best price possible, and always use a repeatable company. Make sure you ask for references and make sure the company is insured.

I hope this helps, Rick
